Half semester a flash
It seems yesterday I just came to America from China and getting ready for my new classes. However, the truth is the half of semester has already past and I am going to face tons of challenges coming from next semester. I feel I just adapt what I need to know but many more new things are coming toward me Therefore, I think I need to analysis my mistake and where can I improved from this semester. Also it is the time to check how many goals I have achieved which I assigned for myself since the start of the semester.
In the essay I wrote before, I talk about my goals for this semester which are improve my grammar, increase the amount of vocab I know and improved my chemistry grades. Fortunately, I have achieved one of these. I think I improved my chemistry grades; It raise from 91 which is a A- to 94 which become an A. However, my Math grades drop from A to A-. Maybe that has confirm an adage which is when you get something you lose something. The reason my chemistry grade turns higher is I listen carefully in class and prepared hard for test which I think I should do the same things on my Math class.
For the goal of accumulating more vocab, I use a app called ‘scallop remember’ to help me to store the words in my mind. There is a record that the scallop app helps me to remember 40 new words a week. Although it doesn’t sounds a lot, but I believed if I stick to it, I will improve myself to a new level of remembering the vocab. Nonetheless, I am keep working on my grammar skills. I found out that I had a whole to improve from the test we just have, because of the grammar problem I lost lots of points which encourage me to work harder on grammar next semester.
Then,lets talk about things I need to work on in next semester. Besides grammar and Math which I have mentioned. I am also going to work on the the note taking. As we all know that a good note taking can help you a lot on review and understand the knowledge you learned in class because you can understand it in you way and review it again and again. Therefore, I think I should improve my note taking; Make them neater cleaner and I will use different kind of pen to distinguish the importance in order to help me while I am reviewing for the test.
As you can see, For the next coming semester, I am going to not only keep up my work on chemistry and remembering the vocab but also work more on my Math class and improve my note taking. I hope that in next semester I will be able to adapt and enjoy my life and study in America and improve myself.
