Senior graduation--start to plan for your future

As a tradition for Cheshire academy, we always invite student who graduated from school that succeed in their domain; come back to school and share their experience. Excitingly, according to Cheshire academy homepage "Jeff, Furman who serves as the Chairman of the Independent Board of Directors for Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream, is returning to campus for the first time in over 50 years to deliver the Commencement Address at this year’s ceremony" (cheshireacademy.org). It is a pleasure to invite such a famous and succeed person to cheshire academy and share his experience and giving advice to students. From that, students can learn from Jeff's experience, avoid the mistakes he made and learning how to start their own business; which is huge advantage for their future life. Also, it is a great guidance for student who wants to build their own company like Jeff did to planning for their future.

In order to fully prepare for the up coming event, we need to know what kind of person Jeff is. According to Mr. Nozell, one of the reason that he wants Jeff come back to school and speak to student is: "Jeff’s dedication to corporate social responsibility is part of why I wanted to reach out to him and ask him to come back and speak at Commencement"(cheshireacademy.org). From Mr. Nozell's words we know that students should not only concentrate on how to make a lot of money, but also they need to make a good quality just like what Jeff does with Ben & Jerry's ice cream(cheshireacademy.org). Nowadays, lots of merchants only focus on advertising and making a lot of money, but ignore the importance of the quality of the product they made. This kind of action cause lots of problem with the food safety; such as the illegal cooking oil event which overuse the oil and cause cannier to customers. Therefore, student need to know the importance of making a good company, since they are young. However, if students want to be as successful as Jeff does, they also need to have a creative mind and the bravery to put into practice. According to benandjerryfoundation.org, Jeff plays a really important role on giving creating ideas and planning the future for the company. In another way to say the reason why Ben & Jerry ice cream is such a successful company is because of him(http://benandjerrysfoundation.org/who-we-are.html). 

As you can see, creativity, bravery, responsibility, and a foresight is the ability you need to have towards the door of succeed.

To sum up, I am really looking forward to the up coming ceremony, and I highly recommend not only senior students, but all the students come and listen to Jeff's experience and advice. It is never too late to plan and get ready for your future. As a result, I hope everyone who attend the ceremony can learn from Jeff and starts to plan for their future. It is a really rare opportunity and thanks for Cheshire academy which provide it.
