I Will Not Grow Up

Pondering on a night without stars,

Peonies wither around my sides.

I wonder one day I will grow up.

A frigid wind blow through my hair,

A remind of what I fear.

I remember one day I will grow up.

Wind walk through the fallen tree,

Roll up and take away the rotten leaves.

What will happen when I grow up?

Moon fade away beneath the cloud,

No lights can be found.

What will happen when I grow up?

Staring at petals float apart,

I whisper softly in my heart.

I will not grow up.

Actually, the suggestion of using the poem writing prompt is quite useful to me. It open a new path to me about the way of writing poems. I find out that I don’t need to travel though the secret path in the woods, or look up into the sky and figure out the shape of clouds to seek for inspirations; if you pursuit the inspirations too much, it will only be far away from you. What if I want, and I have to write every day, what should I write about? Therefore, a solution comes out, you can create a poem with your memories and imagination. For example, like the poem I have: “I Will Not Grow Up” I got an idea from one of my friend; she is trying to write something about a semi-inverse problem called “I Will Not____” She has never written a poem before, so she asked me who has been called as a poet when I was in junior high school. Because she is a girl, I decide to take some time off my study hall period which is usually the time for me to have fun to help her. Um...I never taught anyone to write poem before,( I regard poem writing as a talent and people who is good at it should be intelligence and creative.) so I wrote a poem based on my imagination, and using her as the main character in the poem to create a perfect example for her. Though this event, I realized that writing poems about your daily life is just one way of the whole poem writing progress. There are more and countless theme for you to write about as a form of poem which can be based on your dreams, memories, and even a random topic. It is such a gospel for person like me who live in a world with imagination and philosophy ideas such like, who am I and the meaning of life. My way of writing a poem is too passive which only wait for the inspirations to come and tell me what to write. Therefore, I find out a more initiative way of writing poem which is come up with a topic I am interested to and write about it. As the sudden, I figure out my future for the poem writing, I hear the sound of ideas moving from my vein to brain, gather together and run into a theme for the poem, I can feel my imagination dancing around them, decorate my ideas and make them become more exquisite and plump.
